About our preschool

Our Preschool is rated as 'Exceeding'. We are proud to be performing above and beyond the National Quality Standards. We are committed to ongoing quality improvement and value family contribution to this process.

Our preschool focuses on play-based activities and lays the foundation for future learning. Our preschool provides an educational program for children in the year before starting school that supports the development of early language, literacy, numeracy and social skills.

The preschool is led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and is supported by a qualified School Learning Support Officer.

Starting preschool can be a very exciting time for children and their families. Both teachers are available to speak with at any time if you want to know about your child's day and their learning. Please also involve your child in discussing their day, with the added advantage of our Day book with plenty of photos and drawings.

Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia outlines our preschool practices to support and promote our children's learning.

The Framework conveys the highest expectations for all children's learning from birth to five years and through the transitions to school. It communicates these expectations through five Learning Outcomes.

These include:

Children are connected with and contribute to their world
Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
Children are confident and involved learners
Children are effective communicators

Sadleir Preschool is committed to providing learning opportunities through an engaging environment whilst sustaining a love of learning. We foster an interest based program, and children all have individual learning goals, which they and their families are fully involved in planning.
